Q&A › Worship in the home

🕌 Worship in the home · #181

After returning from hajj, how do we keep that change alive in our home?

Choose two or three practices from the Holy Land and make them a fixed routine at home, because enthusiasm that is not tied to habit fades easily. For example, praying Subuh in congregation, weekly charity, or a habit of forgiving each other before sleeping. Tell your children about the experiences that touched the two of you most, so they can share in them too. Also guard the change in character: if in Makkah you learned to be patient in the crowds, bring that patience into the kitchen and onto the road. Avoid feeling better than people who have not yet performed hajj. Review these practices together after three months and renew your intention. See everyday adab.
