We have just married. Should we register for hajj together now even though the queue is long?
Yes, registering early is a wise step because the hajj queue in Malaysia usually takes a long time. Registering does not mean you must go before you are able; it only makes sure your names are in the queue. Check the latest conditions and procedures with Lembaga Tabung Haji (the Pilgrims Fund Board), including how a married couple can be arranged to go together. After registering, set up a small but regular monthly saving. At the same time, start preparing your knowledge slowly, such as reading about the rites of hajj (manasik) together once a month. A hajj planned early is calmer than one chased at the last minute. See planning hajj together.
