🕌 Worship in the home · #165
We have young children. Is it better to pray tarawih at home with them or take them to the mosque?
Both are allowed; choose the one that protects your focus and the calm of the rest of the congregation. Tarawih at home is valid and rewarded, especially for a mother or father looking after young children. Take them now and then if you want them to experience the mosque atmosphere, but with preparation: let them nap in the afternoon, bring a small book and water, and sit in a back row so it is easy to leave if they get restless. Husband and wife can also take turns, one at the mosque and one at home, then switch the next night. Do not force the children to stay until the end. A few enjoyable minutes build more than an exhausting hour. See congregational prayer guide.
