Q&A › Character & conduct between spouses

🤍 Character & conduct between spouses · #368

My siblings live more comfortably and I have started to feel inferior at family gatherings. What should I do?

Differences in provision between siblings are Allah's decree, and they should not dissolve affection or family ties (silaturahim). Attend family gatherings intending to keep up the ties, not to compare wealth. If someone makes a snide remark, answer calmly and do not get carried away by feelings of inferiority. Focus on what you can give in the relationship: time, help and love, which do not depend on money. Be grateful for your own provision without belittling it in front of others. Pray for blessings for them and for yourself. Sincere relationships judge you by your character, not the contents of your wallet. See in-laws.
