We married through a family introduction, not after falling in love. How do we nurture love?

Love can grow after marriage even if it began with a family introduction rather than a romance. Allah has placed between husband and wife “love and mercy” (Surah ar-Rum 30:21), and it is nurtured through good companionship. Give yourselves time to get to know each other without demanding instant feelings. Spend time together, talk, and do good to each other so the seed of affection sprouts. Focus on your spouse's character and efforts, not only on initial attraction. Be patient, because love built slowly is often stronger. Pray for your two hearts to be united.
