Q&A › Character & conduct between spouses

🤍 Character & conduct between spouses · #398

I often come home stressed from work and lose my temper with my family. How do I stop?

Your family should not be the place where you offload stress that comes from work. Recognise the early signs of stress in yourself, and find a way to release it before you get home, such as a short walk or a brief pause. Tell your family honestly when you need time to cool down: ‘I'm tired today, give me fifteen minutes.’ Apologise quickly when you slip, and do not let it become a habit. Look after your sleep and the worship that steadies your emotions. If work stress is extreme and prolonged, consider professional help. See mental health.
