🕌 Worship in the home · #159

How do we share the work of preparing sahur and iftar among husband, wife and children?

Make the Ramadan kitchen a team effort, not one wife's burden. Write a daily task list and stick it on the fridge so everyone knows their role. For example, the husband prepares a simple sahur, the wife plans the iftar menu, the teenagers cut fruit and wash the dishes, and the little ones set out the dates and glasses. Rotate the tasks each week so that no one feels overburdened. Choose a simple menu, because time saved in the kitchen can be used for tadarus and Tarawih. Praise every contribution, however small. Children used to helping in the fasting month find it easier to help in the other months too. See everyday adab.
