My spouse and I have very different levels of desire. How do we find a balance?

Different levels of desire between husband and wife are normal and can be balanced with love, not pressure. Talk gently about how each of you feels without blaming or comparing. Understand the factors that affect it: tiredness, work stress, hormones or health. Find a middle ground; the spouse with more desire learns patience and understanding, while the other tries not to refuse coldly. Never force, because intimacy grows from feeling safe and valued. If the difference starts to hurt the relationship, a doctor or marriage counsellor can help you both. See etiquette of intimacy.
