How do we plan so the family is looked after if the breadwinner dies?

Planning early for the possibility of losing the breadwinner is an act of love, not a rejection of fate. Discuss it together: who will support the family, where they will live, and how the children's education will continue. Consider takaful protection and savings that suit what you can afford. Make sure both spouses know how to manage the household finances, rather than only one person holding all the information. Keep important documents and a list of assets in a known place. For rights to maintenance (nafkah), iddah and inheritance after a death, refer to the religious affairs office or Amanah Raya. Trusting in Allah goes hand in hand with good preparation, not against it. See preparing for death.
