🤍 Character & conduct between spouses · #75

Should we argue in front of the children?

Avoid big arguments and insulting words in front of the children; save heavy issues for time when the two of you are alone. Children who often see their parents arguing can feel afraid and insecure, and copy that behaviour. Calm, respectful disagreement is fine; in fact it teaches children how to discuss things. If the children have already seen a quarrel, let them also see you make up and apologise to each other. Never ask the children to take sides or speak badly of their mother or father. See educating the family.
