Q&A › Character & conduct between spouses

🤍 Character & conduct between spouses · #90

Our interests are very different. Can our marriage still be happy?

Yes. Different interests are normal; what matters more is shared values. Respect your spouse's interests, and now and then join in even if it is not your favourite. Find one or two activities you both enjoy, such as a morning walk, cooking or visiting family. Also give each of you room to enjoy your own interests without guilt. Agreement on the basics, such as religion, how to raise children and how to manage money, is far more important than having the same interests. See communication and emotions.
