I feel the time I have with my husband is too little. How do I ask for more without starting a quarrel?
A request put as a wish, not an accusation, is easier to hear and to fulfil. Choose a time when your husband is calm, and begin by appreciating what is already there before stating your need. Instead of saying ‘you never have time for me’, try ‘I hope we can spend more time together; can we think of a way?’ Suggest practical solutions, such as a regular activity or a daily call on days that are not your turn. Also listen honestly to your husband's constraints. If the time given really is less than your rightful turn, that is a matter of fairness that can be taken to the religious affairs office. See rotation.
