Q&A › Existing wife & prospective wife

🤝 Existing wife & prospective wife · #115

I feel the trial of having a co-wife is too heavy for me to bear. How can I be strong?

The heaviness is real, but Allah will not burden you with something you are unable to carry. Allah says: “Allah does not burden a soul beyond what it can bear” (Surah al-Baqarah 2:286). This does not mean you must be strong on your own; strength comes little by little, and with help. Break the day into small parts: get through today only, not the whole future at once. Lean your heart on prayer, and accept help from people you trust without shame. Note down one thing you managed to get through each day as proof that you are holding on. The strength you are looking for is growing within this patience. See mental health.
