Q&A › Character & conduct between spouses

🤍 Character & conduct between spouses · #364

I easily feel envious when I see others doing better financially. What should I do?

Envy torments you without adding anything to your provision. Allah says: “And do not covet that in which Allah has favoured some of you over others” (Surah an-Nisa' 4:32), because the apportioning of provision is full of wisdom. When envy comes, pray for good for that person; such a prayer cleanses the heart quickly. Focus on your own efforts, not on other people's achievements. Remember that every blessing comes with its own responsibility and reckoning. Count your blessings until envy has no place left in your heart. See mental health.
