🌍 Children, inheritance & global · #101

When our child stays with my ex-spouse, his prayers are neglected. How should I handle this?

Discuss it as a shared goal for your child, not as an accusation against your ex-spouse. For example, say: ‘I'm getting our child used to praying the five daily prayers. Could you help remind him while he's with you too?’ Share a simple schedule or the prayer-times app your child already uses. At the same time, strengthen your child's own inner motivation: teach him to remind himself, and praise him when he prays without being told. A child who prays because he understands will take that practice into any home. Do not interrogate your child after every visit or speak ill of your ex-spouse in front of him. Allah says: “Enjoin prayer on thy people, and be constant therein” (Surah Taha 20:132). Refer to the educating the family page.
