How far should we rely on a domestic helper to look after the children and the house?
A domestic helper can lighten the load, but raising and nurturing children remains the parents' responsibility, which cannot be handed over entirely. Use help for tasks that give you more time with your children, not to distance yourself from them. Make sure the helper is treated well and fairly, and is not overburdened. Keep your role in the children's worship, character education and emotional attention. Keep monitoring the children's safety and how they are treated. If you can, reduce your reliance gradually as the children grow. The balance is help that frees up time, not help that replaces the parents' love. See educating the family.
