🕌 Worship in the home · #105
How can husband and wife remind each other about worship without it feeling like nagging?
Reminding each other of good is a sign of love, as long as it is done gently and not as criticism. Allah commands: “Help ye one another in righteousness and piety” (Surah al-Ma'idah 5:2), and your spouse is your closest helper. Agree beforehand that reminders about prayer or wirid are welcome, so that they do not feel offensive. Use invitations, not orders, for example: ‘Let's pray first.’ Praise effort, not only correct lapses. Be an example yourself before reminding. If someone is feeling low in spirit, embrace them with support, not guilt. A reminder born of love is more easily accepted. See everyday adab.
