Does having qana'ah mean I should stay silent even when my rights are not fulfilled?

Qana'ah is the heart's attitude towards provision, not an excuse to let your rights be ignored. A wife can be content with a simple life while still asking for the basic maintenance that is her right. The two do not conflict: you are grateful for what you have, and at the same time you ask for what is due in a good way. State your needs clearly and calmly, not with grumbling or a silence that bottles things up. If your rights continue to be ignored or there is injustice, you can refer to a proper authority such as the religious affairs office. Accepting fate is not accepting injustice. See rights of husband and wife.
