Should husband and wife share access to each other's phones, or does each person have a right to their own privacy?
What protects a marriage most is not spying on phones, but building openness until there is nothing that needs hiding. Secretly snooping usually signals suspicion and can be an intrusion that damages trust. Instead, build a culture of transparency: no conversation or relationship you would be ashamed for your spouse to know about. Discuss together the level of openness you are both comfortable with, respecting each other's dignity. If suspicion arises, talk directly about where that feeling comes from, rather than rummaging in secret. Trust is protected through daily honesty, not surprise inspections. If prolonged suspicion is troubling you, get help from a counsellor. See counselling.
