Should I give up all my old habits and hobbies after getting married?

Marriage asks you to rearrange your priorities, not to throw away your identity or every good interest. Healthy hobbies and interests can in fact make you a more balanced and pleasant spouse. What must go are habits that cause harm, waste time and money excessively, or neglect your spouse's rights. Discuss with your spouse so that your interests do not eat up the time and attention that belong to the household. Invite your spouse to share some of your interests, and respect theirs in turn. Find space for yourself within fair limits. This balance protects both your own wellbeing and the relationship. See rights of husband and wife.
