🧭 Region & Middle East · #64

We have just moved to a foreign country and feel isolated as Muslims. How do we find support?

The local Muslim community is an invaluable second family for families living abroad, so look for it early. Get to know the nearby mosque or Islamic centre, and join the programmes and classes available for adults and children. Getting to know other families in the same situation gives you people to share with and help. Get involved in community service so that you feel valued and useful. For children, friends of the same faith strengthen their identity. If there is no community nearby, connect online with reputable classes and gatherings of knowledge. See Muslim minority families.
