Q&A › Worship in the home

🕌 Worship in the home · #72

Throughout Ramadan I am so tired in the kitchen that I worship less. What can I do?

Preparing food for a fasting family is itself a rewarded act of worship, so do not feel you are falling behind. Simplify the menu and avoid preparing too many kinds of dishes. Share the tasks with your husband and children, and cook part of it earlier in the afternoon. Fill cooking time with dhikr and listening to Qur'an recitation so that the kitchen too becomes a place of worship. A husband who helps in the kitchen loses no reward; in fact helping his wife to worship is a good deed. Choose one main act of worship to keep up every day, such as a few pages of the Qur'an or a particular wirid. See husband and wife responsibilities.
