Q&A › Existing wife & prospective wife

🤝 Existing wife & prospective wife · #148

I keep daydreaming about being the only wife and it torments my heart. What should I do?

Daydreaming about a situation that is not yours only enlarges the wound, when that energy is better invested in your real life. Allah says: “And do not covet that in which Allah has favoured some of you over others” (Surah an-Nisa' 4:32). Each time the thought comes, shift your focus to one good thing in your life right now. Build personal goals in knowledge, career or worship so your heart is full of purpose, not daydreams. This is not denying sadness, but keeping it from taking over. If the daydreaming becomes a disruptive obsession, talk to a counsellor. See mental health.
