Q&A › Conflict & resolution

🕊️ Conflict & resolution · #125

We will attend a sulh (mediation) session at the Syariah Court. How do we prepare so that it succeeds?

Sulh is a chance to reconcile without a long trial, and it works best when both sides come to settle, not to win. Allah says: “reconciliation is better” (Surah an-Nisa' 4:128). Before the session, write down what truly matters to you and what you are willing to give way on. Come calmly, listen to the other side without interrupting, and talk about solutions going forward, not about every old wound. The sulh officer will help find points of agreement; respect the process. If there are children, put their wellbeing first in every decision. A heart ready to make peace makes the way easier. See trials in a marriage.
