Our baby is still breastfed. How can my ex-husband visit without disrupting breastfeeding?

Arrange short but frequent visits, in a place comfortable for the baby, and fit the schedule around feeding times. A young baby needs his mother for milk and a sense of safety, but he is also entitled to know his father from early on. For example, the father can come after a feed and stay an hour or two at the mother's family home or another agreed place. Use expressed milk if a visit needs to be longer. Set the schedule in writing and review it as the baby grows. Discuss things in a tone that puts the baby first, for example: ‘We both want him to be healthy and to know his father.’ Allah says: “by mutual consent and consultation between the two” (Surah al-Baqarah 2:233). See hadhanah (custody).
