The deceased left only daughters. Do his brothers also inherit?
Yes, under faraid: a single daughter receives half, two or more receive two thirds, and the remainder after the shares of the wife and parents goes to the nearest male agnatic heirs such as the deceased's father or brothers.
Allah sets the daughters' shares in an-Nisa' 4:11, and the Prophet ﷺ said: give the fixed shares to those entitled, and what remains to the nearest male relative (Sahih al-Bukhari 6732). Many parents with only daughters worry about this. Options permitted during one's lifetime include a valid and fair gift (hibah) of assets to the daughters, waqf, or takaful planning; but a bequest to an heir is not valid without the other heirs' consent. Plan early and get advice from a qualified Islamic estate planner. See Managing an estate.
