⚖️ Polygyny: rulings & justice · #114

I am starting to realise I am not able to be fair. What should I do?

If you honestly find yourself unable to be fair, Islam requires you to return to what you can bear, not to let injustice continue. Allah says: “Then if you fear that you will not be just, then (marry) only one” (Surah an-Nisa' 4:3), guidance not to carry what you cannot manage. Start by fixing the shortcomings: rearrange your time, provide sufficient maintenance, and restore the attention that has been neglected. Get counselling if the cause is emotional or financial. If the situation is complicated, consult the religious affairs office about the right options, but do not leave any wife suspended. See counselling.
