🧒 Raising children (tarbiyah) · #173
My child cried because her father spent Raya morning at the other home. What should I do?
Acknowledge your child's disappointment gently, then help her look forward to the time her father is with your family without sowing resentment. At a young age, one day feels very long, so do not treat her tears as being spoilt. Tell her honestly when her father will come, and if possible arrange a short video call that morning so that she still feels remembered. Plan something fun with her while waiting, rather than leaving her to brood. When her father arrives, let that moment be special and free of complaints. Over time, teach her that love does not depend on who is with her on one particular morning. See children in polygyny.
