🕌 Worship in the home · #96

How do we teach the family the etiquette and supplications for entering and leaving the toilet?

Entering with the left foot first, leaving with the right, and reciting the supplication taught in the sunnah is simple etiquette that can be taught from early childhood. Put up a supplication card near the toilet door as a reminder for everyone. Teach children to clean themselves properly afterwards and not to take in items bearing Allah's name without need. Say the supplication in a voice the children can hear so they copy it. Explain that this etiquette keeps us clean and reminds us of Allah in the most ordinary matters. Praise children who practise it so they enjoy it. See du'a & prayer.
