🚪 Divorce, ʿiddah & rujuk · #146

How do I know I am truly ready to remarry after divorce?

You are more ready when you choose someone because he or she is good for you, not because you want to escape loneliness or prove something to your ex-spouse. Ask yourself some honest questions. Do I understand my part in the breakdown of my last marriage? Can I talk about my ex-spouse without burning anger? Are the children settled? If many of the answers are ‘not yet’, there is nothing wrong with waiting. Use this time to improve yourself, your worship and your finances. When a prospective spouse comes along, get to know each other with proper manners and involve the family and children at the right time. Read the explanation at remarrying.
