🤍 Character & conduct between spouses · #240
My personality and my spouse's are complete opposites. Can our marriage still be happy?
Differences in personality can complement each other rather than divide you, when they are understood and respected. An organised person can complement a spontaneous one, and a quiet one balances an outgoing one. Problems arise not from being different, but from demanding that your spouse become just like you. Recognise the strengths your spouse's differences bring, and use them in dividing tasks. Work out a way of communicating that suits you both. Accept that some differences will remain, and learn to tolerate them without harbouring irritation. A couple who respect their differences grow wider than two people who are the same.
