Q&A › Rights & responsibilities

🏡 Rights & responsibilities · #94

We both work from home. How do we run the household well?

The secret is setting clear boundaries between work time, family time and rest time. Set a workspace and working hours for each person, and agree on a simple signal that means ‘I'm in a meeting, don't disturb’. Divide childcare according to a schedule so that neither of you is quietly overloaded. Take breaks together at mealtimes and shut the computer at an agreed time each night. Remember, working from home does not mean someone can be interrupted all the time, or must work non-stop. Review this schedule every week and adjust it as needed.
