My late husband's home loan was settled by mortgage takaful. Who owns the house now?

Once the loan is settled, the house usually becomes part of the deceased's estate, divided according to faraid. Mortgage takaful pays off the debt to the bank; it does not change who owns the house. Many widows assume the house becomes theirs because they live in it, and are shocked when other heirs claim a share. The situation is different if the deceased had already gifted (hibah) the house completely during his lifetime, or if the policy names a hibah recipient for the remaining benefit. Get a copy of the takaful certificate and the bank's letter releasing the charge, and check who is named. Then bring those documents when you apply for the faraid certificate. See managing the estate.
