⚖️ Polygyny: rulings & justice · #120

One wife is ill or pregnant and needs more attention. Does this breach justice?

Giving extra attention to a wife who is ill or pregnant because of her need is not injustice, as long as the other wife's basic rights are still fulfilled. Justice means giving each person her due according to her situation, not treating everyone the same regardless of need. Explain kindly to the other wife so that she understands this is a temporary need, and she too would hope for the same care when her turn to be tested comes. Make sure you do not turn ‘need’ into an ongoing excuse to lean to one side. For deciding on make-up turns, refer to the religious affairs office. See the rota in practice.
