How can we hold a monthly 'finance meeting' without it turning into a quarrel?

Make it a regular, calm and short meeting, not a blame session once the money has run out. Choose a time when neither of you is tired, and begin with goals, not mistakes: ‘What do we want to achieve next month?’ Go over the balance, upcoming bills and joint savings. Allah describes the believers as those whose “affairs are decided by mutual consultation among them” (Surah asy-Syura 42:38), so make money decisions through discussion.
