Can we change counsellor if we feel we do not get along with them?

Yes, finding a counsellor you feel comfortable with and trust is not only allowed, it is important for counselling to succeed. The fit between client and counsellor has a big effect on the outcome, so there is nothing wrong with looking for a better match. Give it a reasonable chance first, because the early sessions do feel awkward. But if you keep feeling misunderstood, disrespected, or that your values are being brushed aside, that is a valid reason to switch. State your needs clearly to the new counsellor so you do not start from zero. Do not let a poor fit with one counsellor become an excuse to abandon help altogether. See counselling.
