My spouse has passed away. Should I keep up my relationship with my in-laws?

Keeping up your relationship with the family of a spouse who has passed away is a beautiful loyalty and a way of continuing love for them. Even though the marriage bond has ended with death, their kindness and love do not simply fall away. Keep visiting, calling and helping as you are able, especially if there are children connecting you. For grandchildren, their grandparents keep alive the memory of the father or mother they have lost. Keep the proper boundaries with non-mahram family members as usual. If you remarry later, this good relationship can still be kept up with wisdom. Kindness that continues becomes ongoing charity for your late spouse. See in-laws.
