Q&A › Conflict & resolution

🕊️ Conflict & resolution · #130

We are good at starting discussions but they always end up hanging. How do we close them well?

A heavy discussion should close with a clear conclusion and a sense of being on good terms, not be left dangling. Before you part, summarise what you agreed and what still needs discussing. If the issue is not resolved, set a time to continue so no one feels ignored. Close with words that soften the heart: ‘Thank you for listening. Even though we don't agree, I still love you.’ A brief touch or a hug repairs the connection after a draining conversation. Avoid walking off angry without any closure. A good close makes the next discussion easier. See communication & emotions.
