🏛️ Polygyny: the law · #117

I already have a pre-marriage course certificate from my first marriage. Do I need to attend the course again to take another wife?

The requirement depends on the state, so ask the religious affairs office; but in terms of preparation, extra guidance is well worth it. An old certificate may be accepted for registration, but the basic course does not discuss the challenges of managing two homes. Look for programmes or guidance sessions covering justice, the finances of two families, communication with wives and the effect on children. Invite your prospective wife to attend the course required of her. Preparing yourself with knowledge also shows your existing wife that you take this trust seriously. See course for husbands.
