Q&A › Worship in the home

🕌 Worship in the home · #116

We have had repeated miscarriages. How do we stay content with Allah's decree without losing hope?

Repeated loss is a heavy trial, and being content with the decree does not mean you are forbidden to grieve or to keep trying. Allah says: “Seek help through patience and prayer” (Surah al-Baqarah 2:153), and patience here includes pouring out all your sorrow to Him. Keep up the medical effort: get further tests to understand the cause and the appropriate treatment. Give each other room to grieve in different ways, and do not blame each other. Many couples find peace by joining a support group. Hope and trust in Allah can live together; the door of Allah's mercy is never closed. See trials in a marriage.
