Q&A › Existing wife & prospective wife

🤝 Existing wife & prospective wife · #137

My heart wants to pray for harm, but I know that is not good. What should I pray for?

Turn your prayers away from asking for harm for others to asking for good and peace for yourself. Praying for harm only keeps the wound alive in your heart, and does not bring the peace you are seeking. Instead, ask Allah to open your chest, strengthen your faith, and replace the pain with good. Pray for your children, your provision, and a contented heart. If you are clearly being wronged, take your complaint to Allah, the All-Just, and leave the matter of recompense to Him. Praying for yourself is more blessed and healing than prayers born of resentment. Slowly, a heart that prays for good will find relief. See du'a & prayer.
