Can women also have wet dreams? Must they bathe?
Yes. If a woman dreams and finds sexual fluid when she wakes, she must take the obligatory bath, just like a man.
Umm Sulaym r.a. asked the Prophet ﷺ, saying that Allah is not shy of the truth: must a woman bathe if she has such a dream? He replied: yes, if she sees fluid (Sahih al-Bukhari 282). What counts is the presence of fluid, not the dream alone; if she dreamt but there is no trace, the bath is not required. This question is often thought embarrassing, yet it is a basic ruling every woman who has reached puberty needs to know, and is best taught to girls before puberty.
