⚖️ Polygyny: rulings & justice · #130

Should I tell my wives their rights in polygyny?

A fair husband does not hide his wives' rights; he explains them so that each wife knows what she is entitled to claim. A wife who does not know her rights is easily wronged without realising it. Explain the rights to maintenance, the rota and good treatment, and do not use their ignorance as a chance to be dishonest. This shows openness and fear of Allah, not weakness. Encourage them to learn from proper sources such as the religious affairs office. A relationship built on knowledge and trust is calmer than one that revolves around secrets. See women's rights.
