Do we need to inform the Malaysian embassy after our family moves abroad?

It is strongly encouraged, because the embassy can help more easily if they know you are in that country. In emergencies such as disasters, accidents, lost passports or death, information that is already registered can speed up help. Check how to register on the official website of the embassy or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Save the embassy's address and phone line in the phone of every adult family member, including the wife, not only the husband. Update that information when you move house or have a new child. Teach older children what to do if they are separated from their parents. See cross-border matters.
