Is intimacy between husband and wife only about the physical relationship, or is there something deeper?

True intimacy includes the heart, words and loving touch, not the physical relationship alone. Allah says that husband and wife are “a garment for you and you are a garment for them” (Surah al-Baqarah 2:187) — covering, warming and drawing close to each other. Hugs, gentle looks, honest conversation and daily attention all build closeness. Couples who focus only on the physical relationship without emotional warmth often feel distant. Make time to listen to and appreciate your spouse every day. When hearts are close, the physical relationship also becomes more meaningful. Intimacy is built throughout the day, not just in one moment. See intimacy etiquette.
