One of my wives has been admitted to hospital. How is the rota of nights arranged then?

When a wife is ill and admitted to hospital, her need for company comes first, and this is not injustice. Caring for a sick wife is a responsibility and a kindness; you may stay with her more because of urgent need, as you would for anyone who is ill. Explain the situation to the other wife or wives so they understand this is a need, not a preference of the heart. When things return to normal, restore the fair cycle of the rota. If one of them feels wronged, resolve it through discussion, and refer to a sulh officer at the Syariah Court if needed. Justice does not mean rigid equality in an emergency.
