Should the bride read the ta'liq wording before the day of the contract?

It is strongly encouraged; the ta'liq is a protection for you, so understand what it says before it is pronounced. The ta'liq is read by the husband after the contract. It lists the situations that allow the wife to complain to the Syariah Court, such as being abandoned or not given maintenance for a certain period. Its content may differ slightly from state to state. Ask the religious office for a copy, read it together with your husband-to-be, and ask about anything unclear. Discussing it before marriage is not a sign of suspicion, but a sign that you both understand your responsibilities. See what ta'liq means.
