How many breastfeedings make someone mahram?

In the Shafi'i school, breastfeeding makes a person mahram if there are five separate, satisfying feeds while the baby is under two years old.
Sayyidah Aishah narrated that the final ruling was five known feeds. Breastfeeding makes people mahram just as lineage does: the foster mother, her husband and their children become mahram. If the number or the age is in doubt, consult the mufti or religious affairs office before marrying, especially for adopted children or milk banks. See Mahram.
Difference between schools. The Hanafi and Maliki schools hold that a little or a lot of breastfeeding already makes a person mahram.
