1How to use the directory
This site often advises readers to check with the Syariah court or the state Islamic religious office. This directory lists where to go, according to the official portals.
- Syariah High Court (MTS): applications for permission for polygamy (JKSM Practice Direction No. 14/2006), harta sepencarian claims and other major cases.
- Syariah Subordinate Court (MRS): most maintenance, divorce and custody cases at district level — the actual jurisdiction is set by state administration law, so ask at the counter.
- State and district Islamic religious departments or offices: registration of marriage, divorce and ruju', pre-marriage courses, family counselling.
Addresses and phone numbers are copied from the official portals read on 27 Oct 2026. They can change; phone before you go, and check opening hours on the court portal.

Syariah courts and religious departments are state matters; these two federal agencies coordinate.
