Suami lebih sayang seorang isteri, adakah dia berdosa?

Tidak berdosa jika sekadar rasa cinta di hati tidak sama, kerana perasaan di luar kawalan; yang berdosa ialah apabila perasaan itu diterjemahkan kepada perbuatan yang tidak adil. Allah SWT berfirman: kamu tidak akan mampu berlaku adil di antara isteri-isteri walaupun kamu sangat ingin, maka janganlah kamu terlalu cenderung (kepada yang kamu cintai) sehingga kamu biarkan yang lain seperti tergantung (Surah an-Nisa' 4:129). Maka suami tetap wajib menyamakan giliran, nafkah dan layanan zahir. Dia juga sebaiknya menyembunyikan kecenderungan itu daripada pengetahuan isteri-isteri lain untuk menjaga hati mereka. If a husband loves one wife more, is he sinful?

There is no sin if merely the feeling of love in the heart is unequal, because feelings are beyond one's control; the sin is when those feelings are translated into unjust actions.
Allah SWT says: you will never be able to be perfectly just between wives even if you strongly wish to, so do not incline wholly (towards the one you love) and leave the other as if suspended (Surah an-Nisa' 4:129). So the husband must still make the rotation, maintenance and outward treatment equal. He should also hide that inclination from the other wives to spare their feelings. See Fiqh of polygyny.
